SUMMARY:K-12 Fellowship Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Paul R. Jones envisioned his collection as a resource to be shared with Alabamians\, and as a way to educate students about the importance of art in life. The Paul R. Jones K-12 Fellows program is designed to actualize this vision. \nThe Jones Fellows program provides an opportunity for public school teachers to develop innovative curricula inspired by the collection\, and pairs teachers with undergraduate and graduate students from The University of Alabama who support the implementation of standards-based curricula. \nElementary and middle school students from the Tuscaloosa City Schools get the chance to visit the Paul R. Jones Gallery to view an exhibition of art from the Jones collection organized around the theme of identity. Prepared especially for them\, this exhibition inspired student-created artwork that was exhibited in the gallery in December. \n(University Place Elementary and Bryant High)

DESCRIPTION:The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will be sponsoring its 31st Annual Juried Show for West Alabama artists Nov. 2 through Dec. 15\, 2015 at the Bama Theatre’s Junior League Gallery. A closing reception honoring the winners will be held on Dec. 15 from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at the theatre. The public is invited to attend. Visual artists 18 and older residing in Bibb\, Fayette\, Greene\, Hale\, Lamar\, Marion\, Pickens\, Perry\, Sumter\, Tuscaloosa and Walker counties will be eligible. SUMMARY:Double Exposure Photography Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:In its 13th year\, the Double Exposure juried photography competition is open to photographers in the state of Alabama with divisions for both Juniors and Adults. Images to appear in the exhibit are chosen from digital images on disks mailed to The Arts Council then the purchase award\, cash prizes and honorable mentions are selected after the exhibit is hung in the gallery prior to the opening reception.
