DESCRIPTION:We will sponsor a Dachshund Dash at Oktoberfest. Enter your Dachshund or Dachshund mix in our race. We will race in heats of 5 or 6. All the heat winners will race each other. The final 2 winners will receive a prize. There will be a separate costume contest. Registration forms can be picked up at Metro Animal Shelter or online.\nPlease come out and be a part of the fun!\nThere is no fee for the race\, but tickets to Oktoberfest will be $10 at the gate. SUMMARY:Tuskaloosa Oktoberfest
DESCRIPTION:Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority and 3o1 Bistro will host the first Tuskaloosa Oktoberfest on October 6 at noon-6 p.m. located at 301 Greensboro Avenue in Central Downtown. \nThe Bavarian style festival is a fundraiser to benefit the Tuscaloosa All-Inclusive Playground to be built in Sokol Park. \nActivities will include the Buffalo Rock Pepsi stage featuring Oompah-Calypse\, an Oktoberfest band and a second authentic Americana band. \n  \nA Dachshund Dash and costume contest will benefit the Metro Animal Shelter. Attendees are encouraged to bring their Dachshund or Dachshund-mix to participate\, otherwise dogs are not allowed. Organizers request advance Dachshund registration to allow for all pets to be accommodated by visiting http://www.metroanimalshelter.org/dachshund-dash-2018/ \n  \n9Round Fitness is sponsor for the stein hoist competition. Prizes will be awarded to the person(s) holding a signature beer stein for the longest period of time. A beer purchase is required to participate. \n  \nA tented Biergarten with traditional long tables\, chicken dance competition and selfie station will add to the Bavarian style fun. \nBooths featuring local artists and their wares for sale will be an additional feature of the event.
