‘Farewell, Alabama,’ an exhibit of paintings and drawings by Alabama artist Sue Blackshear will open on July 6, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Betak/Frangoulis Gallery at Canterbury Chapel in Tuscaloosa. All are welcome to the reception. Sue Blackshear grew up in Tuscaloosa and Montgomery. Art was always among her many pursuits, which included zoology, history, and language studies. Sue’s paintings in oil and watercolor celebrate the natural world around her, specializing in landscapes and flowers. Sue Blackshear has been an active artist in the Southeast and Iowa for many years. She is planning a move to California, so this will be her last show in Alabama for now.
