Twelve Alabama authors from the 19th and 20th centuries will be inducted during a gala dinner. The first class of inductees includes:Johnson Jones Hooper, Augusta Jane Evans Wilson, Helen Keller, Zora Neale Hurston, William March, Albert Murray, Helen Norris Bell, Andrew Glaze, Harper Lee, Sonia Sanchez, Sena Jeter Naslund, and Rick Bragg. The event is sponsored by The Alabama Center for the Book and the Alabama Writers’ Forum.
